Behind the Boots: DIY Lip Balm

Hey everyone!

Stephanie here. This week on Behind the Boots, I’ll be teaching you how to make your own lip balm. With just three ingredients and a microwave you can whip up this quick and easy moisturizing lip product. It’s an affordable, all-natural way to pamper yourself or gift your loved ones!

 

Here’s what you’ll need:

– 1/2 tbsp beezwax
– 1/2 tbsp Shea butter
– 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
– Container for lip balm ( I used a small plastic container)

Cook time: 9min Total time: 25min

 

Instructions:

 

Step 1

Using a microwaveable safe bowl and add 1/2 tbsp of beezwax, 1/2 tbsp of Shea butter and 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil.

Step 2

Microwave for 9 min. Stop every 3min and with a stick or spoon mix the ingredients to make sure you break it down. Should look a little like this.

Step 3

Right away add the melted ingredients into your container of choice. I’ve used old chap sticks, Eos containers, tin cans and plastic containers. Keep in mind you have about 3 minutes before the liquid starts to harden.

Step 4

Put plastic container filled with liquid into freezer and let cool for about 15 minutes. Once you take it out it should look a little something like this.

Tada! You have made your own lip balm right at home using three simple ingredients! Not only was it quick, but also affordable!
