Stephanie here. This week on Behind the Boots, I’ll be teaching you how to make your own lip balm. With just three ingredients and a microwave you can whip up this quick and easy moisturizing lip product. It’s an affordable, all-natural way to pamper yourself or gift your loved ones!
Here’s what you’ll need:
– 1/2 tbsp beezwax
– 1/2 tbsp Shea butter
– 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
– Container for lip balm ( I used a small plastic container)
Cook time: 9min Total time: 25min
Using a microwaveable safe bowl and add 1/2 tbsp of beezwax, 1/2 tbsp of Shea butter and 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil.
Microwave for 9 min. Stop every 3min and with a stick or spoon mix the ingredients to make sure you break it down. Should look a little like this.

Right away add the melted ingredients into your container of choice. I’ve used old chap sticks, Eos containers, tin cans and plastic containers. Keep in mind you have about 3 minutes before the liquid starts to harden.
Put plastic container filled with liquid into freezer and let cool for about 15 minutes. Once you take it out it should look a little something like this.
Tada! You have made your own lip balm right at home using three simple ingredients! Not only was it quick, but also affordable!
Hope you love your final product as much as I love mine!
See you out on the field! Fins Up!
