It was a beautiful Saturday morning on December 8th where three of my teammates and I ran the 5k at Pope John Paul High School in Boca Raton. This race was designed to raise money for a new track. This was my fourth 5K as a Miami Dolphin Cheerleader and I plan on participating in many more! Running and participating in the 5k races is a great way to keep in shape and give back to the community.
Everyone was in the holiday spirit and dressed up for the 5k, even Santa was there! The run was very family orientated, they had arts and crafts for the kids while their parents ran, and Santa was taking pictures with the children! The most exciting part about this race was that some of the alumni Cheerleaders were participating in the 5k! It’s great to see that they are still involved. It made me realize that MDC is a sisterhood; even though we never cheered together we can still relate to each other. We will both forever be a part of MDC. I know when I am an alumni I would be honored to continue to participate in events such as this just as these alumni did!
